Where Music Becomes a Timeless Moment | Celtic Musicians in Montreal

There are days when we simply want to disconnect from the noise, the schedules, the pressure… and return to something simpler.
Most of our creative moments begin without us even realizing it. A melody we start humming. An instrument we pick up for “just a few minutes.” An idea shared between two conversations.
And slowly… the music comes to life.
We are Fées de Lune, celtic musicians based in Montreal. And behind what we share on stage, there is an entire world we build together. There are the moments when we burst out laughing after missing a transition. The times we try a piece “just to see”… and end up playing for an hour without noticing time passing. The slightly chaotic experiments with too many instruments at once. And most of all… that feeling of being exactly where we are meant to be.
Behind the Scenes of Our Musical World
When we create together, we are not simply trying to play notes. We are trying to create an atmosphere. An emotion. A space where people can breathe a little more deeply.
Through our world of Celtic music in Montreal, we love bringing people into something soft, luminous, and alive. We draw inspiration from ancient traditions, northern landscapes, nature… but above all, from the emotions certain melodies awaken within us.
When a Melody Deeply Moves Us
When we discover a new piece, we do not first think about “what will work.” We look for what truly resonates emotionally.
Sometimes it is an old traditional melody. Sometimes just a few notes heard by chance. And sometimes… a piece follows us for days before we even begin playing it.
That is exactly what happened with The Foggy Dew.
There was something deeply alive, mysterious, and nostalgic about this melody. Naturally… we completely fell in love with it. With the sound of the Celtic harp and flute together, the piece instantly transports us somewhere else.
That is what we love so much about Celtic music: its ability to create emotions, landscapes, and inner worlds with only a few notes.
A Lot of Experiments… and a Few Beautiful Surprises
Then comes our favorite part: experimenting.
“What if we try it with flute?”“Wait… imagine this with cello.”“OK… the Celtic harp really brings the piece to life.”
We test many ideas. Change arrangements. Improvise. Start over again.
And honestly, the moments we never planned often become the most beautiful ones.
The best ideas usually appear when we stop trying to make everything perfect.
That is also what we love about creating music: leaving space for emotion, instinct, spontaneity, and connection.

Our Rehearsals Rarely Feel Like Rehearsals
Yes, we rehearse every week… but it feels much more like a moment where we recharge our energy than actual work.
We play. We talk about music. We discover harmonies that give us chills. Sometimes we completely lose track of time.
It is a space where we can simply be musicians. Without pressure. Without performance.
And honestly… it feels incredibly good.
“There are moments when music is no longer played… it is simply lived.”
We often realize that music has this incredible ability to bring us back to the present moment.
That is also why the connection between wellness and music means so much to us. Music can calm the mind, soften emotions, and create moments where people truly reconnect with themselves.
The Foggy Dew – A Glimpse Into Our Universe as Celtic Musicians in Montreal
Through all of this, little by little, these Celtic melodies become our own.
We build our arrangements together while staying connected to what genuinely moves us emotionally.
We also love creating the entire atmosphere surrounding the music: the imagery, the videos, the recordings, the mood, the visual world.
We keep everything simple and authentic — just like the moments that gave birth to the music itself.
Here is a small excerpt born from those moments:
Close your eyes for a few minutes… and simply let yourself drift.
Gentle and Immersive Celtic Music Inspired by Nature
Whether you are a musician, an artist… or simply someone who feels things deeply, you probably know that place.
The place where we stop trying to impress. Where performance disappears. Where we begin creating honestly again.
That is often where the most beautiful moments happen.
And maybe that is why certain music touches us so deeply — because we can feel it comes from somewhere sincere.
Before becoming a performance, our music is first made of shared moments, spontaneous ideas, emotions, silences… and a lot of magic between bursts of laughter.
Behind Fées de Lune
With Fées de Lune, we hope to create musical experiences where people can slow down, dream, and truly feel.
Through the harps, flutes, cello, and voices, we create a universe inspired by Celtic traditions, nature, and human emotion.
And maybe that is why, when you listen… something inside you begins to soften and settle.
