How Our Experience Shapes the Celtic Music We Create

The celtic music duo Fées de lune play harps in a bright room with white walls and a mirror.

When people attend a Fées de Lune concert, they often tell us about the atmosphere, the emotions, or the images the music brings to mind.

What they don't always see is the years of musical experience, artistic exploration, and personal growth that quietly live behind every note.

Every project, every performance, every instrument we have learned, and every challenge we have faced has helped shape the way we create music today.

Experience That Shapes the Way We Perform

Long before Fées de Lune was created, music was already a central part of our lives.

Over the years, we have explored different musical styles, taught students, performed on stage, developed our listening skills, and learned how to create meaningful connections through music.

That experience continues to influence everything we do.

In our Celtic-inspired world, our goal is not simply to play beautiful pieces. We strive to create an atmosphere, evoke emotions, and offer an immersive experience.

Every nuance, every breath, and every arrangement is carefully crafted to leave space for emotion, imagination, and reflection.

The Importance of Listening and Musical Sensitivity

As the years go by, we've come to realize that music is about much more than technique.

What truly touches people often comes from something more subtle: presence, listening, and the intention behind each note.

Our experience helps us sense the energy of a space, connect with different audiences, and create moments that feel natural and authentic.

Whether we are performing in a library, cultural centre, Christmas market, or intimate concert setting, the atmosphere is never exactly the same.

And that's part of what makes every performance unique.

Exploring Different Instruments to Create a Richer Sound

Being multi-instrumentalists also plays a significant role in shaping our music.

Each instrument brings its own colour and personality:

  • the gentle resonance of the Celtic harps

  • the airy melodies of the flutes

  • the warmth and depth of the cello

  • the richness of vocal harmonies

This variety allows us to create arrangements that feel vibrant, expressive, and full of nuance, inspired by Celtic traditions, northern landscapes, and the world of imagination.

We love experimenting, reimagining pieces, and allowing the music to evolve naturally until it begins to tell a story of its own.

Celtic Music Inspired by Life as Much as by Legends

Our experience comes from more than celtic music alone.

It is shaped by everything we have lived, observed, and felt throughout the years.

The people we meet, time spent in nature, quiet moments, personal challenges, and the full range of human emotions all find their way into our creative process.

Perhaps that is what gives our music its deeply human and heartfelt quality.

Through Fées de Lune, we hope to create spaces where people can slow down, dream, and reconnect with something timeless and meaningful.

Creating Moments That Stay With You

Over time, we have learned that a concert is much more than a series of songs.

It is an atmosphere.

An energy.

A shared experience.

Our years of experience help us create events that feel immersive, welcoming, and memorable—where music becomes something to be lived rather than simply heard.

Because in the end, it is often the emotions we experience that remain long after the final notes have faded.
